Applications open for Rise: Finding brilliant people to support for life

On October 18, Rise is set to open applications for the 2023 cohort of Rise Global Winners. An initiative of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust, Rise is the anchor program of Eric (former CEO of Google) and Wendy Schmidt’s commitment to finding and supporting global brilliant young people through a lifetime of benefits to work towards solving humanity’s most pressing problems. 

Rise encourages everyone interested aged 15-17 (as of July 1st, 2023) to apply regardless of background, geographic location, or academic experience/interests. Everyone who applies to Rise gains access to free online courses, a global network, and a specially curated offering of opportunities from Rise partners around the world. 

Rise Global Winners will receive:

  • Invitation to a fully-funded, three-week residential summit with other winners; 
  • A lifetime of mentorship and career services; 
  • Online educational services; 
  • Access to a network of other Rise Global Winners across cohorts;
  • Technology packages such as laptops or tablets; 
  • Opportunities to apply for needs-based undergraduate scholarships

The online applications open on the Rise website on October 18, 2022, at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and are available until January 25, 2023, at 16:59 (GMT). To apply, applicants will introduce themselves through videos, create an individual project that demonstrates their talents and benefits their communities, and peer review other applicants’ projects.
