Marybeth Gasman is Samuel DeWitt Proctor Distinguished Professor and associate dean of research in the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, where she also serves as executive director of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity & Justice and executive director of the Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions. Her book Doing the Right Thing: How Colleges and Universities Can Undo Systemic Racism in Faculty Hiring documents the institutional forces stymieing faculty diversification and explores how such deficiencies can be rectified. She will be interviewed by Mari Castañeda, professor of communications and dean of Commonwealth Honors College at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
